The Grocery-go-Getter!

So Shonda and I have had our eyes on a new Toyota Sienna for some time. We had to think of a vehicle that could accommodate all three hounds, a baby, the both of us and all of our luggage. Well, almost two weeks ago, Toyota offered a finance incentive we couldn't pass up, so we took the plunge into "minivan-dom". Here is the new addition to the garage above!

It is an LE version which has some pretty cool stuff on it like a 6-disc CD changer (which Shonda said will hold 3 CD's we like and 3 CD's babies like), a power passenger side sliding door, fold-and-stow 3rd row seats, iPod hook-up, and room for 8! Shonda has been driving it almost exclusively, and seems to really enjoy it. The color is called Slate, and up close looks like a dark blue/grayish color. We traded in Shonda's Vibe and decided to use the equity to pay off my Yaris and get down to 1 car payment for the first time in a long time.

Well, as you may know when you get a new car, you are super careful and extra sensitive to anything that could potentially damage the vehicle. Shonda and I discussed parking it on the far end of the Metro lot next to another nice vehicle to prevent dents. We carefully get in with clean shoes to keep dirt off the carpet, and keep it nice and tidy. Well, wouldn't you know, 5 days after we got it, some little SOB's in the neighborhood lobbed some eggs onto the roof of it while trying to egg the neighbor's house. We were pretty ticked off, but a nice guy at the carwash used his high pressure hose to work on it. Shonda then got home and applied a little old fashioned elbow grease and voila! Good as new! Needless to say, we now automatically feel really old with our new minivan, but function outweighs form (even though I secretly wish I could drive the Sienna to and from work!) and we have a car that will serve our needs. And if we decide to pop out 5 or 6 more, we're good to go (just kidding mom & dad, don't get your hopes too high!)
